Tuition and fees, books and memberships, extracurricular activities and the cost of living—as a post-secondary student, you are making a significant financial investment in your future. As a MacEwan student, there are a number of financial assistance options available to help you: student loans, lines of credit, scholarships and bursaries, awards and grants.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, leadership experience, community service, and work/internship experience.
Mount Allison’s scholarships recognize our most well-rounded and involved students, as well as academic achievement. Every student has the opportunity to earn a scholarship with scholarship funds available on an equitable basis across the entire student population.
Both domestic and international students in thesis-based and course-based programs are eligible to receive some of our many internal scholarships.
To be eligible to receive most internal scholarships, graduate students must be enrolled full-time, though some are offered to both full-time and part-time students. Only the Adah Ruth Spencer Memorial Scholarship in Graduate Education is available exclusively to part-time graduate students.
In-course scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit to full-time undergraduate students who have completed at least one full year of study at Nipissing University. Generally, an application is not required. Students must be registered to receive a scholarship, which is generally paid out in January. Weighted grades are used to determine eligibility for a scholarship; please check this section to confirm eligibility requirements for specific programs.
New students with an admissions average of 85% are eligible for an entrance scholarship worth at least $5,000 over four years of study. The final value of the entrance scholarship awarded will be based on final marks for the five Grade 12 courses used to meet admission requirements for your program.
Trent University offers a limited number of highly competitive international scholarships and awards to students eligible for admission to undergraduate studies.
International students entering post-secondary studies for the first time and registering in the first semester of a degree program in the fall semester.
Scholarships are awarded primarily on grades. Some scholarships have additional criteria, such as: financial need, extracurricular activities, the high school you attended, etc., and often reflect the goals and values of the donor. Successful applicants will be notified by email.
The main Annual 2022-2023 UNBC Awards Competition is now closed. Another smaller awards competition will be held in the Fall. Applications for the Fall 2022 competition will open on September 15, 2022.
